Race Goals 2013

Well, I did it!  I allowed myself some loose planning for races this year.  I've been very "minimal" with the racing after my first year.  I literally "hit the ground running" full speed back in 2010/11 season and have since then done very little!  I have kept up my running and fitness to the level I can maintain and now I finally feel ready to slowly add in.  My goal is for 2 triathlons this season, short easy ones since I don't plan on training a ton. I would like to keep my running to 4-5 days a week, about 15-20 miles a week, with a day of swimming, when I can and cycling as much as I can, when I can.

Fitness is not my life, but I sure do love it being a part of my life!

There will be times I can devote more time than others, I've learned that valuable lesson over the past two years.  I am an active woman, always have been and I'm pretty sure I always will be.....different things for different seasons of life....yep, yep!

I will add in a half marathon and *possibly* a full....but here is my loose plan for now...

Austin 10/20 - April 14, 2013
Red Poppy Ride - April 27, 2013
Spa Girl Tri - May 11, 2013
Skeese Greets Women's Tri - June 30, 2013

Step one complete, some goals are set.  Who knows what other races my friends will talk me into for next fall/winter....LOL

Happy Training!

Say Hello to my Little Friend.....

Old Betsy Blue!

Say hello to "Betsy"!  Yes, I'm gay like that and am naming my "New to Me" bike!  I'm shocked Kim never named her anything besides "my boy bike". I just wasn't having that! She has seen Kim through quite a few Triathlons and has been very faithful to her through them all!  I'm one lucky girl to inherit her and now I feel very "Official"!
I've only done 1 triathlon but can't wait to jump back on the Tri-train this season!  Now I feel like a CYCLIST!!! WOO HOO!!!

Danskin 2010

I can't do ANY of it without this guy's love and support, that's FOR SURE!
I can NOT wait to get on the rode with her this week....SO SO SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!

Hellloooooooooooooo Tri Season!

I have not blogged about nutrition in QUITE A WHILE! Truth is, I haven't been as focused as I'd like but am slowly adding back into my new routine.  The past few weeks I've been better at juicing and making my smoothies, still not where I was with it, but I'm getting there!

After my trip to the library this afternoon SOLO to pick up books for the school week (hopefully I will soon start just making biweekly trips for my FIAR study stuff and soon after MONTHLY, LOL - - - baby steps Gina, baby steps), I stopped in Sprouts to stock up on some greens so there are no excuses this week!

Kale, spinach, rainbow chard, parsley , zucchini and broccoli

I LOVE my greens, it's no secret and am excited to say I've added a new one to my "likes"....

RAINBOW CHARD

It's all about setting yourself up for success each week.  I have been juggling some new roles trying to find a balance and am happy to say I'm FINALLY able to start adding back in the things I LOVE!  Last week, I did my four days in a row of running (took weekend off for baby girl's bday festivities). This week, I will add a bike ride in and 5 days of green smoothies too!

Come on Monday, let's do this!

HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY ADRIANNA!

My heart aches when I realize my first born baby girl is officially entering "Double Digits" today!

How is it possible???!!!! She isn't a "baby" anymore! Having the opportunity to homeschool her this year is allowing me to spend all day with her and watch her in admiration and adoration at the little lady she is becoming. She's smart, sensitive, creative, gentle, caring, helpful, responsible, resourceful, so loving and still my cuddlebug! She is beautiful INSIDE and OUT!
God sure knew what he was doing when he sent me this little angel. I'm learning so much from being her mom!

Happy 10th Birthday my sweet girl!!! I love you so much and am so proud of all for who you are and all you do!

Shake Your Groove Thing....Yeah Yeah

Dare I say, I'm getting my groove back? LOL  I hate being a Debbie Downer, it's just NOT me!!  Life is hard, suck it up.  Relationships are hard. Homeschooling is hard. Responisibility is hard. Healthy living is hard.  Parenting is hard.

Yep.

SUCK IT UP!

That's what I tell myself when I fall into that PMS, "Life sucks" mode.  Yes, I am extremely moody and cranky, emotional and sensitive when I'm PMSing. BUT those are all emotions....NOT reality and this time around I chose not to let emotion control actions or define me.  :o)

I sat at dinner with one of my favorite couples on New Years Eve and thought to myself, "This is going to be a great year"!  2012 brought many "endings" in my life so I know 2013 will be a year of "beginnings" and THAT is what I choose to focus on.

I am in a "season" right now with being a brand new homeschooler and wanting to do it right.  Well, let me rephrase that, right for my family.  I've learned what looks right for others, will NOT be right for my family and that's okay.  When it comes to your family there is no "wrong" if you make your decisions from your heart and do everything with love.

For the first time in a looooonnnngggg time I know what I'm doing is the right thing.  Some of the best advice my friend Heidi gave me was to write down all the reasons why I decided to homeschool so when the feelings of doubt creep in I can rest in my decision and get rid of those feelings.  This has helped me tremendously because everyday is not easy, but worth every minute of it!!

Right now, I'm not the best at keeping a coffee date.  I'm not the quickest at repsonding to texts and messages. I miss a ton of stuff on Facebook.  The people that value me and know my heart are the ones that keep hanging on and for that I am SO thankful!

I took out my sewing machine last night.

I went to bed at 9.

I'm not drowning in laundry this week.

I think I could actually be coming up for air now. Thank God!!!
